Hi, I’m Andy Bush — founder of Ledger Sense Bookkeeping.
I created this company with one mission in mind: to help small business owners gain clarity, confidence, and control over their financial data. I’ve walked in your shoes, and I understand the real-world challenges that come with running a business — not just the numbers, but the late nights, tough decisions, and everything in between.
A Foundation Built on Finance and Real-World Experience
After earning my Finance degree from Texas Tech University, I began my career in corporate finance, where I specialized in data analysis, financial reporting, and project management. This gave me a strong foundation in understanding how businesses operate behind the scenes — not just with numbers, but with systems, strategy, and outcomes. In 2007, I took a leap of faith and opened my own construction company under a national franchise brand. It was a crash course in small business ownership — wearing every hat, solving every problem, and figuring things out the hard way. By 2016, our office had become the #1 location in the country. I successfully ran that company until July 2024, and those years taught me lessons no textbook or spreadsheet ever could.
Why I Started Ledger Sense
Owning a business can seem glamorous from the outside, but unless you’ve lived it, you just don’t know what it takes. That’s why I started Ledger Sense Bookkeeping — to bring together the analytical side of finance and the practical realities of entrepreneurship. I now focus on helping other business owners understand their financial data and use that insight to make smart, confident decisions. It’s not about guessing or going with your gut — it’s about having the right numbers and knowing what to do with them.
